Membership

Four types of membership.

➀ Boys

Age limits for the membership of Boys in the Brigade

Anchor Section

4th birthday to the end of the session in which the Boy reaches the age of 7 years.

Junior Section

7th birthday to the end of the session in which the Boy reaches the age of 12 years.

Company Section

12th birthday to the end of the session in which the Boy reaches the age of 17 years.

Senior Section

Until such time as there are enough Boys between the ages of 18 years and 21 years in any one Company, a Senior Section will not be applicable. Boys between the ages of 18 years and 21 years shall be trained to assume responsibilities as Officers.

Officer Cadet

Where possible, the National Executive Committee shall organise Officer Cadet Companies in institutions of higher learning in order to equip future Brigade Officers with the necessary knowledge to run a Company. Such potential Officers shall be young men of sound Christian Character.

➁ Officers

This shall comprise of men and women above the age of 22 years for male officers and 30 years for female Officers with sincere Christian beliefs and good conduct and of sound mind, who shall be suitably qualified in the training of Boys and the promotion of the Brigade objective.

➂ Brigade President and Vice Presidents

This shall comprise of the President and the Vice Presidents appointed in accordance with and performing the functions specified under the provisions of our Constitution.

➃ Honorary Membership

  • This may be conferred on any person considered by the Brigade Council as deserving such membership.
